HYDERABAD: The Telangana government expects a major surge in Global Capability Centre (GCC) investments at the upcoming Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026, scheduled to be held from December 7 to 9 at Bharat Future City. Several global GCC companies are likely to sign MoUs with the state government during the summit, official sources in the industries department said on Wednesday.
Sources said several Japanese and West Asian companies were exploring Hyderabad for expansion of their India operations and were likely to announce investment proposals at the summit.
Telangana has emerged as a major GCC hub, attracting nearly 240 centres from global companies since the Congress government assumed office in December 2023. The state is now targeting a fresh round of GCC investments, viewing them as a key driver of high-paying jobs, technology and innovation, besides boosting commercial and real estate activity.
Hyderabad has been among India’s fastest-growing GCC markets over the past three years. Industry reports by Anarock-FICCI, Xpheno and UnearthIQ have highlighted the city’s rapid growth, with some estimates putting its share at over 40 per cent of GCCs established in India.
The city’s strong banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) ecosystem is also helping attract global firms. Canadian banking major CIBC opened its technology centre in Hyderabad earlier this year. DoorDash, Billtrust, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Acumatica, Baker Hughes and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals are among major companies that have recently set up GCCs in the city.
The Invest Telangana summit is being positioned as an investment-focused follow-up to the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, which unveiled the Telangana Rising Vision 2047 and set a target of building a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
The first meeting of the Invest Telangana Governing Council led by Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju was held at Secretariat on Wednesday the meeting reviewed measures to strengthen the investment ecosystem, speed up approvals, improve infrastructure and provide faster government support to investors.
Jaju directed officials to intensify global and domestic promotion of Telangana as an investment destination and maintain regular coordination with existing investors. He asked departments to fast-track investment proposals and ensure their implementation within fixed timelines through inter-departmental coordination.
He said Invest Telangana should become a key platform for achieving the state’s Telangana Rising goals in investments, industrial growth and employment generation.
Finance principal secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, special secretary Krishna Aditya, TGIIC MD Shashanka, ITE&C joint secretary Anudeep Durishetty, Invest Telangana CEO and managing director B. Ajith Reddy, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
