Kym Marsh is said to be planning her fourth wedding in secret. The actress, 50, is thought to have got engaged to Tom Dickinson during a romantic trip to Paris with her partner earlier this year, some six months after they first met.
Now, insiders have claimed that whilst some may think the former Coronation Street star would not be in a rush to tie the knot, quite the opposite is the case.
A source said: “People might have assumed that Kym would get engaged and had no real plans to marry, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. She hasn’t been put off by her previous marriages and truly does believe Tom is her happy ever after.”
Kym shot to fame as part of Hear’Say in 2001 before going on to play Michelle Connor in Corrie for over a decade and more recently appeared in Waterloo Road, but the insider claimed that the star is keen to have the planning done before she reunites with her bandmates next year.
Speaking to The Sun, the source added: “They know they want to marry next summer, they have looked at venues and are pretty sure they have found the one.
“They have already starting asking their bridesmaids and they have even started reaching out to wedding videographers. Kym is keen to get the main planning out of the way before she goes on tour next year.”
Kym was initially married to EastEnders actor Jack Ruder from 2002 until 2009, and then to Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas from 2012 until 2014.
In 2021, she tied the knot with Scott Ratcliff but they went their separate ways two years later. Last year, the star said she wouldn’t marry for a fourth time but reports of her latest engagement emerged in March.
Tom is reported to have spoken to Kym’s mum, Pauline, as well as her children, before he got down on one knee, next to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. “Kym and Tom are on cloud nine and couldn’t be happier to be engaged. Their romance has been like a fairytale,” a source said.
On her Instagram Stories, she posted a selfie her partner took of them as they enjoyed some time together at a restaurant. Another picture posted in September showed Kym’s partner with his arm around her while she placed her hand on his stomach. The two were posing with pals at a bar.
Talking to The Independent as she got ready to star in a theatre production of Abigail’s Party in April, playing Beverley, she said of the seventies, when the play was written: “You were expected to get married back then. It was almost a little girl’s dream.
“But not for Kym Marsh. I’ve been married three times, and three times it’s not gone well – so no more for me. Three strikes and I’m out.” In September, images emerged of Kym’s profile on the dating app Hinge, where she described herself as an “actor/presenter.” She also referred to her fame, saying her dating life is like “being on the Truman Show – but it’s never boring!”
