The London Marathon 2026 took places this weekend, with likes of Cynthia Erivo, Harry Judd, Alexandra Burke and even Daddy Pig among the celebrities who took part

Some big names smashed their personal best as they flashed their medals after a sweltering London Marathon.

Nearly 60,000 people took part in the massive fundraising event, making it one of the largest fields in the marathon’s history. There were more celebs than ever getting their trainers on, with some taking the epic course more seriously than others.

Stars from showbiz and sport created a buzz at the 26.2-mile event with many doing it for incredible causes. Cynthia Erivo, running for the Kings Trust and Shameless Fund, beat her 2022 time as she took just three hours and 35 minutes to get around and she said: “There was a little rough moment where I thought it was never going to make it, but then I found a little bit of strength. I’m proud.”

Spencer Matthews missed out on the three-hour run he was desperate for by just four seconds but the reality star, who became a three-time Guinness World Record holder last year after completing an Antarctic triathlon, was still seven minutes faster than last year. He was supported by wife Vogue Williams and their kids all the way at the iconic route.

Super fit F1 star Sebastian Vettel was the quickest star around, posting a very impressive two hours, 59 minures and eight seconds in his first ever Marathon with the four-time world champion doing it all for the Brain & Spine Foundation and the Grand Prix Trust.

Former England cricket captain Sir Alastair did it in 3 hours five minutes and 15 seconds and said: “Cricket’s easy. When you’ve finished, when you’re not very good, you cash out and sit down. There’s no hiding place here.” Welsh football Aaron Ramsey, running for It’s Never You, fell just 30 seconds short of a three hour run.

Harry Judd loves the race, he crossed the finished line at three hours, five minutes and 25 seconds with Joe Wicks taking five hours and fifty one minutes to get around. Tilly Ramsay, 24, ran the iconic route in four hours one minute with Tilly Ramsay, 24, needing just four hours and one minute.

Singer and actress Alexandra Burke, 37, hit four hours 25 minutes with AJ Pritchard – inspired by raising money for Marie Curie managed five hours, 15 minutes and 27 seconds.

Daddy Pig, of the Peppa Pig family of course, waddled around in aid of the National Deaf Children’s Society, taking almost six hours to bring home the bacon.

Organisers are exploring the possibility of changing the schedule, which would allow the elite men’s and women’s competitions to be held on separate days while also boosting charity fundraising by doubling the number of amateur runners able to take part, it is reported.
