Rashmika Mandanna has wrapped up an extensive filming schedule for a major underwater action sequence in her upcoming Telugu film, Mysaa. According to the makers, the sequence is being billed as India’s first underwater action set piece led by a female actor.
Announcing the milestone, the production team said, “A new chapter in action cinema has begun,” adding that audiences can expect a “historic, high-stakes spectacle.” Filming underwater poses significant technical and physical challenges, with actors and crew required to work under limited oxygen, reduced visibility and restricted movement while executing carefully choreographed action sequences.
In Mysaa, Rashmika plays a Gond tribal woman, a role that marks a departure from her recent screen appearances. The film is directed by Rawindra Pulle, who aims to present the actress in a never-seen-before avatar.
Rashmika has previously collaborated with leading filmmakers such as Sandeep Reddy Vanga (Animal) and Sukumar (Pushpa franchise). With Mysaa, she is set to explore an action-driven role that could become another significant milestone in her career.
