A UK man, Harry Seager, received £2 (approximately Rs 215) in compensation after discovering a peculiar Mars chocolate bar that lacked its signature ripples. The incident occurred when Seager, 34, purchased the chocolate at a service station in Oxfordshire while en route to a classic car show in Birmingham. Upon unwrapping the bar, he found it completely smooth, prompting him to share a photo on the Dull Men’s Club Facebook page, where it quickly went viral.
Seager reached out to Mars Wrigley UK to inquire whether the smooth bar was a new product or simply a manufacturing error. In response, the company issued an apology and sent him a £2 voucher for future purchases. While he appreciated the gesture, Seager expressed disappointment that his main question about the cause of the anomaly was not adequately addressed. He remarked that he was primarily interested in understanding why the bar was produced this way, rather than focusing on the compensation.
Despite this, Seager took the situation lightly, stating, “£2 is great – it’s two free Mars bars! Maybe they could have sent more, but I am not ungrateful.” His experience sparked various reactions online, with some users criticizing Mars for their lackluster response and minimal compensation.
